INTRODUCTION

In order to demonstrate and communicate to all our stakeholders:

  • Our strong environmental performance carried out through the control of the aspects and impacts associated with our activities on the environment,
  • Our commitment to proper OSH performance through rigorous and continuous control of the occupational risks associated with our activities and services.

We have implemented in COVERSUN SOLUTIONS, S.L. an Environmental Management System based on the UNE EN-ISO 14001:2015 standard, and Health and Safety based on ISO 45001:2018.

The purpose of this report is to provide our stakeholders with information regarding our environmental performance and behaviour, our OSH performance, as well as to reinforce our commitment to the continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System and OSH implemented.

Our Environmental and OSH Management System (integrated in the Quality, Environment and Health and Safety Management System of the COVER GLOBAL GROUP) is developed in the following documents:

Environmental and OSH Management Manual: document that contemplates and develops the scope of the management system, the hierarchical and functional organisation of the company, the procedures that develop the system and the Organisation’s Environmental and OSH Policy.

Process sheets, procedures and instructions: documents that develop the requirements of the environmental and OSH management system, describing the operations to be carried out and the assignment of those responsible.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND HSE POLICY

We have defined, implemented and made available to our stakeholders on our website (www.coversun.es), our Environmental and OSH Policy, which is appropriate to the purpose and strategic lines of our organisation, and includes our commitment to environmental protection, pollution prevention and our commitment to implement all necessary measures to prevent injuries and deterioration of workers’ health, and to provide safe and healthy workplaces.

The Policy is also the framework for the annual setting of our Environmental and OSH Objectives.

ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE

ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECTS

COVERSUN SOLUTIONS, S.L. has identified all the environmental aspects associated with our activities; both those directly associated with our services and our administrative activity (direct aspects) and those associated with the activities of our suppliers (indirect aspects).

We have also identified the environmental aspects associated with possible emergency situations. All identified aspects are evaluated to determine those that are significant.

Direct aspects

To ensure proper environmental management and performance, and our commitment to continuous improvement, we set annual environmental objectives and improvement actions. These objectives and actions are established taking into account the aspects that have been found to be significant, with the aim of reducing the environmental impact generated.

Likewise, we establish a control of all significant and non-significant environmental aspects through monitoring indicators. We have established operational control procedures that help us to control them and maintain evidence of the management carried out.

In order to prevent the generation of aspects associated with emergency situations, we have defined Emergency Plans, and we periodically carry out control tests that allow us to train and raise awareness among our workers, and guarantee that we have the necessary means (technical and human) to act in the event of an emergency.

Indirect aspects

In order to control and improve our environmental management in relation to indirect environmental aspects, we have established a series of actions that allow us to act to a greater or lesser extent on them and influence their management (to the extent of our capabilities); thus, we have implemented actions such as:

The creation of a “Questionnaire of Requirements and Good Environmental Practices”, which we send to our suppliers, requesting their commitment to know and comply with current legislation applicable to their activities.

OSH PERFORMANCE:

HAZARD IDENTIFICATION AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY RISK ASSESSMENT AND CONTROL

At COVERSUN SOLUTIONS, S.L. we have defined and implemented processes for continuous and proactive hazard identification, taking into account factors such as work organisation, leadership and organisational culture; routine and non-routine activities and situations, including hazards arising from infrastructure, equipment, materials, substances and physical conditions of the workplace; product and service design; relevant past incidents internal or external to the organisation, including emergencies; people with access to the workplace and their activities, including workers, contractors, customers, visitors, etc.

In order to carry out the identification of hazards and the correct assessment of OSH risks, as well as to plan the necessary actions for their elimination and/or control, at COVERSUN SOLUTIONS we have opted for the preventive modality of the External Prevention Service (SPA), having contracted with this service all the preventive specialities:

  • Safety at work.
  • Industrial Hygiene.
  • Occupational medicine.
  • Ergonomics and applied psychosociology.

Annually, or in the event of changes that have an impact on OSH, our Risk Assessment is reviewed (which is approved by Management as evidence of knowledge of the content and approval of said assessment), as well as the associated Preventive Activity Planning (which contains the preventive measures to be implemented to avoid and eliminate the occupational risks identified in the assessment).

Internally, we have appointed a Management System Manager and an OHS Manager who is also the interlocutor with the PPS and who coordinates the implementation and start-up of the preventive actions established by the PPS.

All identified occupational risks are analysed and dealt with (establishing priority guidelines based on their seriousness and probability of occurrence).

PRL TRAINING AND INFORMATION

All our employees have received information on the risks in their jobs, as well as the training required for the performance of the job.

Thus, staff have received preventive training in the following areas:

Office workers:

  • Prevention of occupational risks in administration posts

Site workers:

  1. Prevention of occupational hazards in electricity
  2. Prevention of occupational hazards in metal carpentry
  3. Prevention of occupational hazards at height
  4. First aid

SST OBJECTIVES AND PLANNING TO ACHIEVE THEM

In order to guarantee the correct management and performance of Health and Safety at Work, and our commitment to continuous improvement in this area, our OSH Management System defines that OSH objectives and targets will be set annually.

These objectives will be established taking into account the identified occupational risks, prioritising the consultation and participation of our employees.
